Fuel Door Release Cable Problems

I am told that the actual cable is only available through the dealer and it is $75. Is this true? I want to replace the whole thing myself but I get conflicting accounts about what I need to do. The fueldoorkit is $15 online but doesn't include an actual cable. Just a fix for a frayed one. Please help. I need to get this taken care of quick.

Re: Fuel Door Release Cable Problems

If it is broken near the lever then the fueldoorfix is the way to go. It clips right on.

My 2005 has this exact problem, I just ordered one of these parts to do the fix. Way better than replacing the cable (if it stays fixed that is)

Thanks for the info!

Re: Fuel Door Release Cable Problems

Seeing these 05s showing up I'm glad I ordered on for my 05 and popped it in place while the cable was still working o.k.

The fdf should be a permanent fix.
