How do I remove my center console
How do I remove my center console
Hello I’m new to this forum. I recently bought a 2005 Honda Civic dx and I want to remove the center console as I am installing a shift boot and shift ****. I’ve already removed the trim clips at the front of the center console and I’ve removed the screws in the back but it still won’t come off. Any help would be appreciated

Does yours have the raised armrest around the e-brake or does it just have a little pocket deal with a sliding door?

ah, easy peasy then. Pull up the trim that surrounds the e-brake by using the hole the sliding door should be. I used to literally stick my hand in that hole (phrasing.. lol) and gently yank upwards to pop the clips. It should reveal 2 (or 4?) more screws you gotta remove to take out the shifter trim.

From what I see there isn’t any separation between the top park of the e brake trim and the storage compartment beside it

oh that's weird. I've never seen one without the sliding door over the rear pocket. Nevertheless, that plastic that surrounds the e-brake and has both of the pockets needs to come off.

Re: How do I remove my center console
i think the haynes manual had it covered properly (sold in most autoparts stores) My car have the sliding cover, so not relevant to show mine
have you googled? Found several here, honda-tech, etc.
also, most honda parts online have a visual guide to order parts. See snapshot below for a 2005 DX
