plastic piece under dash getting in the way of the clutch
i was going to install the wiring and switch for my oem fog lights today, but ended up finding out that i had the wrong fog light kit, so i put everything back together. when i went to leave later on, i put the clutch in and heard a sound, so i let it out and tried again, and i heard the noise again. i figured out that it was the plastic piece that goes under the steering wheel (the one that sits parallel to the floor) hitting somewhere on the clutch. i pulled it out and set it in the back and left. i havent had a chance to look at it yet, but i dont know how it could have happened since that piece has a couple clips and a lock, so i know it was back in the right spot. im gonna look at it tomorrow when its light out and see if i can figure out what happened with it
I just had that piece out a few days ago when I installed the OEM alarm. There is a plastic holder near the clutch that the piece wedges into (it acts like a horizontal clip/holder). You have to slide the piece in the holder (the holder surrounds the piece almost like a lobster claw gripping it horizontally), pop the 2 clips in closest to you (they push upwards) and then turn the lock (wish I had a picture to show you). Hopfully this isn't making it more confusing.

I found it a lot easier to work on that lower piece when I took off the cover that sits just under the steering wheel. You'll be able to see the area much more clearly and it lets the light in. Make sure you tilt the steering wheel all the way up first before you turn the two locks that let the steering wheel cover swing down.
