SRS light on, NO WARRANTY

Today, I have the dealer checking the Side Airbag. I have the extended warranty too. And they decline my warranty. What they told my is because somebody make a din on my door to damage the sensor. My door din actually is not quite visible. I just want to let everybody know, it could happen anytime. They also told me the sensor is very sensitive. Even your car go into a road bump, the air bag will go off by itself. All of this is not covered. I think it's so bad that car manufacturer doesn't make better airbag sensor. By the way, it costs $350 for the sensor. And you have to replace the SRS computer, there is another $900. It also costs me $80 just for them to look at it. Is there anyone have the same problem with their Side Airbag?

sounds like BS

If they were so sensitive and a bump would set it off then why is on the car.
There would have been a recall already.

Here is a an aftermarket law thing for you to read: http://www.granatellimotorsports.com/magnusonmoss.htm

tacheon is on a distinguished road
Every situation is different. Do you have a photo of the door to post? It may very well be damaged. But maybe you didn't hear things correctly. The side airbag sensor isn't in the door. Its in the lower part of the car body next to the seat.

It looks like something have hit my Civc's lower body right under the door. I can see some mark there. But actually there is no physical damage. Just some dirt mark. It still sound crazy to me.

Yeah, wrong dealer. They cannot deny your warranty because of a door ding. They don't have to fix the "DING", sure. But that has nothing to do with the SRS system. Geez, these dealers get worse all the time. I'd ask a lawyer. We all hate them, may as well use one. The SRS system is a MAJOR safety system. There are laws regarding this.
