2001 civic ex, rack leaks. has been for a few years but not that bad. How hard is it to yank it? I have peeked at one video to get an idea but the guy disconnected the ac line at the firewall to get to a bolt on the rack bracket. Is that really necessary? My ac works great and last thing I want is 2 problems (to redo the ac system). I know it is cramped under there but just wanted opinions on this project.

There are step by step instructions in the service manual that you can download for free. Makes no mention of removing an A/C line.
