Ride Height Problem
Ride Height Problem
Picked up an 05 Civic that was on lowering springs and noticed a dramatic difference in ride height (figured the shocks were blown on the driver side.) Approx 1inch+ larger wheel gap on front and rear passenger side.
Replaced the following shortly after:
-All new strut and shock assemblies (visually confirmed the springs are seated properly.)
-Both control arms
-Ball joints, tie rod end links, and sway bar end links.
Wrapped it all up with an alignment but still have this dramatically uneven ride height only now the car is sitting much higher (very noticeable when driving; car seems to be rougher riding on the driver side.) Is there something on the rear end that could be kinking the stance? Or possibly a bent frame or sub-frame? I know people have said there is uneven weight distribution in these cars but this seems a little excessive. I've even eyeballed other civics of the same gen and they seem to be sitting just fine.
TLDR; nearly all new front end components and new shocks all around but car still sits just over an inch higher on passenger side. Wheel gap on drive side is comparable to other stock civics on standard springs and struts. Passenger side looks like the car is being jacked up slightly. Any ideas?

Re: Ride Height Problem
Everything appears to be visually symmetrical on the rear end if I compare them left to right. The one thing I did notice is the wheel gap on the rear passenger side is still slightly larger than the rear driver side even when the car is jacked up. So it appears it may be an issue with the rear end suspension or frame. I also did notice some of the bushings are worn but I'm not sure if that will have any effect on the ride height.

sdaidoji: something could be seized too.
need to ask - is the front better now and the issue only the rear?”
The front is no better than the rear, sadly. I put the car up on 4 jack stands and the strangest thing is that the passenger side wheels have a larger gap than the driver side when in the air. I’m completely boggled by it. It does sound like something is binding. I did notice the rear upper control arm bushings are shot on both rear sides so I’m swapping those out.
