Is my top-hat in the wrong position?
Is my top-hat in the wrong position?
Hey everyone. My 05 Civic was on lowering springs and I noticed it leaned more on the driver side. I figured the shocks or springs on the driver side were bad. So I decided to bring it back up to stock height and replace all 4 assemblies. However, it sits unusually higher on the passenger side than the driver after changing the shocks and struts. I'm talking about upwards of a 1-inch larger gap on the passenger side front and rear. It's more noticeable now with the higher ride height. My guess is the previous shocks and lowering springs were fine since the issue is still here with new assemblies. Any ideas what can cause this? I'm wondering if maybe I installed the top-hat in the wrong position on the car? I have not had the chance to take them apart yet but wanted to see if you have any ideas.

disassembling it is the best way to check for issues. Or visually comparing left/right

Ah, typically there are more stuff on the driver's side, like steering wheel, pedals, etc. Mine is slightly lower on driver's side (I am light too, so that makes it better)
