Scraping Around Turns
Hello,
Been doing a lot of digging through the forums and I still can't seem to find the answer to a problem myself and others have been searching for for a while. I've had a 2002 Lx for a year now, and it's always made a scraping sound around left turns, especially where there is a lot of weight thrown against the right side of the car, like a sharp, non-banked turn. I have replaced the Axles + CV joints on both sides, removed the heat shields for both front brakes, replaced the pads and rotors and had new ball joints and LCAs with new bushings installed. The back brakes haven't been replaced, and they do rub a little when jacked up and spun. I have checked the front wheels for play in the bearings and jacked the car up and gotten the wheels up to speed with no noise. The struts are in good shape and the shocks don't bounce. The noise feels like a very metallic scraping that is transmitted up through the floor and still makes a slight noise even when driving almost straight. It only disappears when making right turns, and then it's completely quiet. Any Ideas?
Thanks

Re: Scraping Around Turns
I'll look into changing those. The struts pass the bounce test, but the front right might actually be the culprit. That side of the car makes a clunking sound over bumps as well as scraping. Kind of sounds like it may be the solution. Any better ways to test struts before dropping $180 on a new pair?

Re: Scraping Around Turns
Do you have ABS? My ABS pump (on another honda I owned) made a horrible grinding noise on turns. EDIT: Nevermind, I don't think the LX vehicles had ABS. Sorry.
