Power Steering Pulley Came Loose

i have a question about the power steering pulley. im wondering if this is some kind of design flaw...

well, july 4th, i was driving and my power steering belt fell off. i was like WTF. i pulled over and popped my hood and noticed that my power steering pulley had fallen off too. so i lost the nut that holds the pulley onto the pump.

my question is...is that nut supposed to be "reverse" threaded?? in other words...do you twist the nut counter clockwise to tighten? or clockwise? cuz looking at the pulley standing from the front driver wheel, the pulley turns counter clockwise. and looks liek to tighten the nut, u turn clockwise..

from older hondas (like my dad's 91 accord) the pulley spins counter clockwise, and when u tighten the nut, u turn it counter clockwise also. (screw Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey on this one..)

i'm thinking, my pulley fell off cuz it was turning the opposite way of tightening, making it come loose with each and every engine start. Which way is the nut supposed to be turned to tighten?? Is this an inadequate design? or did i just have bad luck??

How does everyone else's Power Steering Pulley nut screw tight?? Clockwise or Counterclockwise??

no it wasn't . i only have basic warranty, 36000 miles. i have 49000. sux. i try to keep an eye on the nut now, make sure its on tight.. still seems weird to me that the nut tightens by turning clockwise...

yea dude, i totally agree, but i was just comparing it to a 91 accord's power steering pulley, and it was righty loosey, lefty tighty. opposite of the way the pulley spins. if i can remember correctly, the DA's pulleys tighten and loosen the same way too.
