Silicone brake booster hose problems

I bought a silicone hose kit for my 2001 and installed all the radiator, heater, and other hoses today including the vaccum hose for the brake booster. The brake booster was literally fine before installing this new silicone hose but now when you shut the car off with in a few seconds the pedal rises to the top it works fine while engine is running. Idk any ideas?

Re: Silicone brake booster hose problems

Nevermind, I didn’t realize at first that the original brake booster hose had the check valve shoved a few inches “inside” the hose. Guess I’ll be grabbing a universal tomorrow to add to the new hose.

Re: Silicone brake booster hose problems

Alternatively, you can cut the original check valve out of the original brake booster line and "splice" it inline with some hose connectors. It'll be uglier, but functional. Just make sure you know which direction that valve is supposed to go. Just make sure you keep an inch or 2 on each side of the check valve. Technically speaking, you can put that check valve anywhere in the booster line, so to make it look nicer, you can put it at the end of the new silicone hose.
