Brake lights were stuck on, and thanks to this forum I realized the stop for the brake light switch had disintegrated. In replacing the stop I had to work the brake pedal up and down several times (with the vehicle off) and it got pretty stiff. Now when driving the brakes are stuck (my wife was driving it and they were smoking. Fortunately she promptly pulled over). When I remove the brake light switch, the pedal pops out away from the floor. Brake pedal is very stiff, with almost no give. Any advice?

So the calipers are seized?
Quote:
I don’t think the calipers are seized. The brake pedal has no play (can’t push down at all). When I jacked it up and detached the brake light switch (which released pressure on the brake pedal), the front wheels turned pretty. freely. (They didn’t turn before that). Originally Posted by Colin42
