I pulled the fuel pump assy from my Honda and the regulator was covered in rust, of all things. As I understand it, there is a spring-loaded diaphragm in the regulator. Should this move freely, as in, I could push it in and it return to its normal position? Pics below. First image is looking into the end where the spring is. The bit in the center is the part that I wonder if it should move. In the second pic, the spring is in the area to the right of the flange.
Thanks,
Thanks,

I would recommend replacing the whole thing. You can get the entire fuel sender unit for fairly cheap on sites like RockAuto.

Thanks. Replacing the assembly is the way to go; I was mostly just curious about it's operation. Everything I found on the web kept referring to regulators on the fuel rail.
