Bad clutch? Or seized pilot bearing? [solved]
Hey yall. Basically to make it short and simple the car won't go into any gears unless the car is off. It started yesterday but got progressively worse until I can't get into any gear. The clutch won't disengage even with the clutch pedal to the floor. The clutch fork moves so that's a plus I guess. I'm not seeing any leaking coming from the master cylinder but the slave did have what I believe is old brake fluid inside the boot. However after cleaning the inside and pumping the clutch pedal quite a few times I'm not seeing any fluid. Could this issue be purely clutch or pilot bearing related. In the video linked below it shows (sorry if it's not the greatest quality lol. It's hard to film it such a tight spot) that the fork is pushed in but the input shift is still spinning. No unusual noises coming from the bellhousing area even with the clutch fork pressed.

Failed slave/master, or clutch issue. If its the clutch you wont be able to tell until you have it apart
re: Bad clutch? Or seized pilot bearing? [solved]
Just bled the slave cylinder and I'm not seeing any leaks on either the slave or the master. In addition pumping the pedal does not decrease the brake fluid. When pressing the clutch pedal down it hits the floor but does not rise back up, however it also depresses the clutch fork but it's almost like the clutch fork doesn't have any resistance as it doesn't push the slave cylinder's piston back in. I can also push and pull the fork in and out about a half an inch but also move it from one side of the access hole to the other. This can be done while the car is running but I'm sure that really doesn't mean anything.

So at this point it can only be a failed clutch fork assembly/clutch pressure plate or a throw out bearing right? I know I can only speculate until I remove the trans but I'd like to narrow it down before I start pulling things apart.

Turns out I didn't need to drop the trans to figure out the problem or 1 one of the problems. Classic case of should've greased it better. Clutch fork split at the pivot ball mount. Bought a clutch kit today so since I already have to drop the trans I might as well replace that as well. Problem is that it's the one part that an auto parts store doesn't sell (at least in my area) and I doubt a wreckage yard will sell it to me without buying the whole transmission. Time to call the dealership I guess.

Final verdict. Clutch release fork is almost split all the way across width wise at the pivot ball mount location. I'll post photos tomorrow. This time around I greased the pivot ball generously with some wheel bearing grease. The broken clutch fork apparently was never greased at all from the previous owner's clutch job. Wore away the clutch fork until it had barely any material left to sit on and eventually just gave up. Pressure plate was still in good condition and the clutch disk had a fair bit of material on it left, still replaced it because I'd be better safe than sorry.

So I got everything back together and she's working all good now but now the clutch bite point is extremely high now, in fact almost to the top of the pedal travel. Is there a way to adjust this so that I can get the engagement back to the old clutch? Old clutch engaged 1 inch off the floor.

That's impressive, and try bleeding some more.
inch off the floor is wrong, but high up is also kind of wrong. Pushrod length maybe?
