question about transmission

2002 Civix LX. Just bought.
The transmission was just rebuilt.

Question.....
When I hold button, it shifts from Park, Reverse, Neutral, D, D3 and stops. To get to D2, have to hold button (Normal).
The question, most cars would stop at D, then press button to get to D3 and D2. This one stops at D3, and can go back and forth without depressing the button between D3 and D. Because I just bought the car, I didn;t know if that was normal. Seems odd to me.

Thanks

Re: question about transmission

2002 is not a 6th generation car.
moved out of the other thread and into correct generation section
