D17A2 5 speed transmission rebuild
D17A2 5 speed transmission rebuild
I'm currently in the fun situation of my transmission's input shaft bearing being on it's way out. I plan to buy a used unit from a local auto wreckers to get me through until summer time.
I want to rebuild the original transmission from my car, using performance ready parts wherever possible as I plan on abusing the car in the future and want to make it more resilent. Where should I go and what should I get in terms of synchros, bearings, and seals? The couple google searches I've done up until now have not resulted in any good results for actually finding what I want.
My car, for the record, is an 05 Civic Si(Canadian) sedan.
Thanks a million.

Re: D17A2 5 speed transmission rebuild
Synchrotech transmissions is where I'd start.I am in no way affiliated with these guys, but I have heard nothing but good come from them, and one of my friends (used to be active on this forum) rebuilt his transmission with their parts. He's also the only person in this world that I know of that has bored his D17A2 out to 1.8L. It was also where I was planning on buying a rebuilt/upgraded transmission from when my 2nd gear synchro started to really go.
