Shifting issues
I changed all the bearing in my manu transmission and after put it back together I realized that I'm having trouble shifting into 2nd gear. I dont know if it's the two washers underneath the shafts that I turn on the wrong side causing this issue, if so,how should theyturn? I notice that they have a slight belly to them. I anyone have any idea please let me know and what they think.

Re: Shifting issues
If it is popping out of gear, then I would suspect a mount isnt installed correctly, or worn out.
If it wont shift into gear then there is probably an alignment issue withe the gears/synchros/shift forks.

Re: Shifting issues
Ok. All the mounts are new and installed fine. I put more fluid in the transmission and I realized changes..
at..i got this Code, ( p1361 TDC CAMSHAFT SENSOR 1 NOISE ) ? I changed the sensor and I'm still having the same issue, the check engine light came on after a few days after installed the sensor. And I'm hearing a noise to .Its coming from the right side of the engine, where the water pump,ac compressor and where the alternator at..
what's your honest opinion?

Re: Shifting issues
When you checked / changed the sensor, did you insure the camshaft sprocket bolt is properly torqued down?
What code were you getting before you changed camshaft sensors, and did you use a actual OEM part for the replacement?

Re: Shifting issues
P1361 was the code.
No I didn't used an OEM sensor it is too expensive. It is over a 100..
I used my impact gun to put the pulley on before I put it the head back on. I use the impact gun because I didn't have the right tool that they use to hold the pulley.

When I rebuilt the engine I used my impact gun to put it on before I put it back on the block because I didn't have the right tool hold the pulley while loosen the bolt.

Re: Shifting issues
Ok..I put the OEM parts first but sometimes money is the problem to get those parts..
You think if the timing belt to tight it can send off code like the p1361?
