Transmission issue - Slave Cylinder?
Hey everyone,
I have a 2004 Civic Si with intermittent issues changing gears. I have already had the transmission replaced under warranty, and still have the same issue. I recently brought my car into the dealer, and after explaining my issue, the first thing they said was the slave cylinder. They looked at it, and said they adjusted the clutch linkage to the master cylinder. After that, things were much better for about a week. I have a suspicion that they simply greased up the slave cylinder. However, my mechanic is still not satisfied that that the slave cylinder is the issue.
Here are the symptoms:
Any ideas? Do you think it's the slave? If so, how much should it cost to replace, I was quoted $200 CAD by my mechanic.

Here are the symptoms:
- All gears are randomly difficult to engage (feels like it's catching)
- If you press the clutch down very fast and hard, the issue will often go away or lessen
- when the clutch is squeaking (appears to come from the slave cylinder area) the problem is more prevalent
