Drive (D3) - This position is similar to D4, exept only the first three gears are selected. Use D3 to provide engine braking when going down a steep hill. D3 can also keep the transmission from cycling between 3rd anf 4th gears in stop and go driving.
For faster acceleration when in D3 or D4, you can get the transmission to automatically downshift by pushing the accelerator pedal to the floor. The transmission will shift down one or two gears, depending onyour speed.
Second (2) - To shift to second, press the release button on the front of the shift lever. This position locks the transmission in second gear. It does not down shift to 1st gear when u come to a stop. Second gear gives you more power when climbing, and increases engine braking when going down steep hills. Use secong gear when starting out on a slippery surface or in deep snow. It will help reduce wheel spin.

Yeah I only tried it once, and I pretty much knew it wasn't worth doing, although to me it felt pretty stable, of course my tires are low profile too so that probably helped. Can anyone explain why the rpms drop back down after you reach like 95-100 (I don't remember how fast I was going when I noticed it, and it was awhile ago)?

Shucks I guess my next car I'll make sure it does on the test drive. The last honda salesman i spoke to said some guy took out an 06 Si, went 140 on the freeway and handed them a check!
I know I have an auto but not by choice, my previous cars were both manual, and this one was given to me, I only go 5-7 mph over the speed limit now, too many crazies. But I was just wondering why it did that, i'm not giving an accurate description, but say you're going 95 it'll go up to about 6-6.5k, drop down to 5.5k and then start climbing again.

yea i was on highway 99 over the holidays and i decided to see what my baby can do....i hit like 112 when the fuel cutoff kicked in lol
i dont think there is a rev limit extender or ignition that will do anything to your top speed.....here's an idea, make your car fast enough to go faster than 120 in the 1\4 then start worrying about changing that limiter, cuz there is no excuse for going that fast anywhere else.
boxes that keep your driving habits/operating conditions logged and potentially downloaded during dealer servicing. the Man is interested in knowing how the population is actually driving, however i don't think they have the nationwide resources to use it to cite speeding and stuff, but they are able to regulate the domestic manufacturing companies to install them.
?? heard they were trying to integrate it directly inside the computer with data-recording chip, possibly flash-rom?? checking on this. not sure on datatype storage but i don't think its an aux electrical component available for easy removal. anyhow i don't think they have this shhit in import cars, at least the ones shipped in overseas....
