So I replaced the head gasket on my 2005 lx 1.7 non vtec with a aftermarket multi layer steel one and I did get the head machined but it’s still leaking into the coolant and yes I did torque the bolts to spec. So my question is, does anyone have a recommendation on a head gasket should I just use OEM? I heard that a certain Acura head gasket is better than a Honda. Should I go thicker or should I go with a more racing style head gasket because of them being designed for higher pressures. Thanks

Use OEM Honda whenever you can with these cars, down to the Type 2 coolant and DW-1 transmission fluid. They're particular little machines, but they'll treat you right if you do the same.

Head gasket part number is 25910-RPC-000 and can be had from Amazon for around $50.
