Overheating 1.7L

Ok guys & gals, 02 1.7L keeps overheating. 1st know what I have already done. All these are new and replaced. Temp control switch, thermostat, radiator, water pump, fans, timing belt & radiator cap. Also had an over night radiator pressure test on system and no psi lost. The last repair has been the water pump/ timing belt kit because pump weep hole leak found previously after adding dye and over heating. So, after this particular repair, added new coolant, burped system, car back up to circulating coolant, replaced cap, and test drove. Car overheated again around the block, returned to my garage, turn it off and inspected for leaks. NONE FOUND 🤔 Think I've spent more on repairs than car is worth but refuse to put a bullet to it.
what's next or what dud I miss?

Re: Overheating 1.7L

Overflowing out the coolant bottle?
head gasket, very common in these cars.
Go read and perform the test with shop air

Re: Overheating 1.7L

Combustion gases leak past head gasket into the water jacket. This pushes coolant into the coolant reservoir. Gases get trapped in the block which causes overheating.

I did fear that and yes, while burping system to top it off I did notice it never stopped bubbling. 😤
Guess I start tearing motor apart but I'll double check by doing that test again. Thanks for the help, all information very useful. Just wished the certified mechanic I paid big bucks for would have been smart enough to look for that.

Re: Overheating 1.7L

Get the head checked by a machine shop and use OEM parts. Otherwise don't bother
