2004 Honda Civic VP 220,000 mi overheats randomly and cools down
2004 Honda Civic VP 220,000 mi overheats randomly and cools down
My car has the D17 motor, I ran into this problem as well as the heater not working 3 months ago and replaced the thermostat and bled the cooling system, that fixed the overheating and the heater for about a month. Now the car is back to overheating and the heater no longer works. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Did you cheap out on the thermostat? Non-OEM parts don't usually last all that long.
Definitely has the symptoms of a bad head gasket, though.
