2005 Civic Hybrid Battery Problems?
2005 Civic Hybrid Battery Problems?
1st Post - My daughter's 2005 Civic Hybrid has the following problems: She got it started, put it in reverse, and backed it up. The engine stopped and she called to say the ignition would not turn or restart. As she jiggled the ignition/key it did restart but without power steering and she drove it back into the parking space. The green key light is flashing, charging system indicator light on, EPS light is on, no battery light , or gas level is on empty but there is at least a 1/4 tank full, and the window would not power down. The battery was replaced in 2013 and car itself has only 100-110k miles. Can anyone provide some feedback.
Re: 2005 Civic Hybrid Battery Problems?
Certainly indicates a substantial electrical issue. First thing I'd do is make sure all electrical connections are good and that there isn't a short or parasitic draw somewhere. Not necessarily saying the hybrid battery is bad but 10 years is certainly enough time to suggest at least taking a look at it.
