Replacing ECM/PCM/ECU
Replacing ECM/PCM/ECU
Alright, so I bought this civic about a week ago. When you got in it started it idled rough/funny. It would be very shaky until about 1500RPM, then it would accelerate and act fine. After it warms up it would almost die coming to a stop.
The check engine light was on so I read the codes. There was a few, a misfire in multiple cylinders, P1607 was faulty ecm, and another one. So I cleared the codes, read it again and there was one "permanent code" which was the ECM. So I pulled the ECM and got the same part number re-manufactured unit off of Ebay.
Now, my question is, I heard you have to "reprogram" you key in order for the car to start?
How would I go about doing that?
I work at a dealership so I could have them do it, but can I just bring both ECM's there have them do whatever to make it work? Or??
