I have a 2004 Civic LX, and the cruise control engages but when driving will disengage on it's own. It seems to be heat related as it works for shorter periods in the heat of summer than in the cooler fall or evening temperatures. Any ideas?

Just a thought, is your brake pedal loose, as in flopping?

No, its firmly in place.

If I was to go for a 200 km trip and the temperature is 20 degrees celsius I doubt it would stay engaged for 5 km before cutting out if I am lucky, but right now with the temperature around 7 degrees celsius it may remain operating the whole trip almost. It is actually affected by the ambient air temperature somehow.
