Jumped Timing Belt?

Hello,

I was helping my friend diagnose a start and die problem on his 2001 civic LX and could use a second opinion/ checking work.

The car would immediately start but shut down after 1 second, giving throttle or in park or neutral had no effect.
The green immobilizer key goes away and is not blinking. The fuel pump connector has voltage and you can hear the pump prime and run.

I unplugged the camshaft sensor and the car would crank without starting. Unplugging the crankshaft sensor the car starts and runs in limp mode (3500 rpm limiter).
The crankshaft connector visually looks OK. I cleaned it off with electrical cleaner and tested the wires for battery voltage and 5v all checked out ok.

It was my understanding the the car should run with either sensor still plugged in so we replaced the crankshaft sensor with a Denso made in japan unit.

The car now runs with either senor unplugged. It runs "like normal" with the cam sensor plugged in according to my friend (3500 rpm limit) and it runs worse with only the crank shaft sensor. With both sensors plugged in it still runs for one second then dies.

I thought if both sensors are functioning maybe there is a problem with the timing so we pulled the upper timing cover. I believe the belt has jumped a tooth but wanted to confirm before the timing belt is replaced. See the pictures below.

Any advice is appreciated or if you have other suggestions for the cause. No codes except for the sensor that is unplugged to make it run.
