Ignition timing issue
Ignition timing issue
Lot of work done, and still some issues, any ideas?
All new sensors, water pump timing kit, verified timing, verified valve lash, new sparkplugs, fuel injectiors, ignition coils.

Re: Ignition timing issue
I feel like the ignition timing should be more stable than what is in the picture.
I think the timing going +13 to -3 in seconds is not "normal"
It is not misfiring but the ignition timing should be much more stable than it is.
I did replace the water pump and timed everything correctly mechanically, will hope this is related to the other harness/ECU issues.
If anyone else has a scan tool with live data; I would appreciate seeing your ignition timing readings on live data to compare.

Re: Ignition timing issue
If there isn't any active symptom, I'd leave it alone. Could just as easily be that your OBD2 reader isn't accurate.
That said, if your crank sensor and timing is good, then the only potential alternative would be something like carbon build-up in the head.
