2005 4 cylinder where is the heater control valve?
2005 4 cylinder where is the heater control valve?
Air blowing cold, want to manually turn on the valve, have checked thermostat fluid levels. Also is there a fuse for the valve? If so which one is it.
Re: 2005 4 cylinder where is the heater control valve?
The valve is mounted to the firewall. Follow the two coolant hoses from the engine.
You sure the system is full of coolant with no air pockets? Head gasket is a common failure on these engines. Symptoms include combustion gases in the exhaust pushing coolant into the reservoir, causing no heat in the cabin.

Re: 2005 4 cylinder where is the heater control valve?
Thank you both for responding, I have made all the checks recommended and since found out that the heater valve is on the cab side of the firewall. The only thing left to check is if there is a fuse associated with **** on the dash that controls the heat temperature, I can't find it in the owners manual. The **** turns so easily I can't imagine that it is mechanically adjusting the valve.
Re: 2005 4 cylinder where is the heater control valve?
The **** on the dash controls an actuator somewhere under the dash. That actuator pulls/pushed on a cable which then opens/closes the valve.

Thanks for that, was at that local shop getting a tire fixed and one of the boys showed me that it's behind the glove box. I'm going to get them to see if that's the problem and fix it. If so then I'll get the timing belt and wp done and it will be ready for a few more years. Sure love that car, thanks again for the help.

Original problem is blowing cold air? You verified radiator isn't low on coolant? Reservoir isn't low from a coolant leak or too full, likely head gasket failure?
