2004 Honda civic 1.7 L crankshaft sensor

Bought the car two months ago ran just fine then some days it would hesitate to crank drive to the store and will have to sit for an hour to crank up. Then it stopped cranking up at all, so I unplugged the crankshaft position sensor and it fired up and runs in limp mode. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor, plugged it in, and same thing would not start soon as I unplugged it it would run again. Where do I go from here?
