Timing belt noise

Hey you guys, sorry years later but I have a timing belt noise question. I was doing a valve adjustment today and as I crank my engine by hand I can hear creaking like a floorboard or a door. Definitely coming from the cam pulley area. Possibly from the water pump too I can’t tell. This is a new sound as I just did an adjustment last week. I’ve created my own forum as well if you guys would please take a read.

I really need the help with my car. I just want it to run good

here’s a video of the creaking sound discovered today, the sound came out well

Re: Timing belt noise

What specs did you tighten the intake and exhaust valves to?

Re: Timing belt noise

I only hear the wrench clicking and the valve whoosing noise...
on the other hand, thanks for separating your issues by post and adding a link to you other issue - makes the responses better and more organized.

Ok so that whooshing noise you’re hearing is actually the power steering pulley squeaking which I think is the whistling I hear while driving as well. once you hear the creaking you can’t unhear it lol it’s one of those things but it actually sounds like a creaky floorboard like something is bound up. like I said this sound is new since the last time I was adjusting the valves

Re: Timing belt noise

Can remove the p/s belt temporarily if it helps isolate the noise.
Use an auto-stethoscope, long screwdriver (24" or more), or a two foot piece of 1/2" PVC pipe to your ear to probe around and amplify noises. Harbor Freight sells an auto-stethoscope and a pair of long screwdrivers (flat and Phillips) for $5 or less.
