I'm trying to get this new exhaust manifold catalytic converter onto my 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. I've purchased two of these gasket/seal things that go between the lower end of the manifold/catalytic converter and (what I think is) the collector pipe. I may not be using the correct terminology, in any case neither of these gasket seals seems to fit properly. One is loose, even with the spring bolts and mount bolt tightened down (first, second and third photo). The second gasket, which is the same brand as the manifold/converter (Bosal) doesn't even fit into the end properly, it's too small. If I start to work it on I end up just grinding what I'm guessing it's lead dust everywhere (fourth and fifth ).

I was thinking of taking this whole manifold/converter to AutoZone and seeing if they have anything that fits properly. Any suggestions?

I took a hacksaw to the collector end to make it flush with the gasket, problem solved!

That was going to be my suggestion, that pipe stub looked way too long
