Check engine light
We have included your original post below:
Hello all. About a month and a half ago I installed a k and n intake system on my 2005 civic. Everything was running good and sounded great. Today I was driving and a check engine light went on. I opened the hood and my filter that sits on the end of the tube fell off. After securing it it still has the check engine light. Any ideas on what it could be. Did it just throw a engine light because of that ? But to me it seams silly that it would throw a engine light because the engine has no way of knowing the filter fell off. Any help is appreciated

Engine code help
Recently my 2005 Honda Civic dx MT has thrown a check engine light. About a month prior I installed a short ram intake with no problems. The day it three the code I popped the hood and found that the filter had fallen off the tube. I just read the codes and I got P0113 and P0135. I looked it up and the first one is supposed to be a air intake temperature sensor and I’m wondering if my intake is causing that. The second one is o2 sensor code. How would I got about fixing these problems. I pretty new to working on my own car and I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Re: Check engine light
merging to your previous thread. creating a new one will not help (will spread the answer, be asked the same thing in two different threads. etc..
a quick search on the forums will tell you that IAT, at the intake you replaced, so yes, it is intake related...

Re: Check engine light
okay thank you I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to bring backs old thread. Intake related as in the intake causes this and there is nothing wrong with the sensor. Also how would I got about fixing the other code. Should I just replace the A/F sensor?

the code related to the intake air temperature sensor, it could have been caused by you bumping into it during intake installation. That is what i meant it is intake related, so you should check it.

Re: Check engine light
okay I’ll see if it’s connected properly. What would determine if I need to replace it? I really appreciate your help

search around the forums for a bit. 7th gen cars have been around for 20 years, plenty of info here.

Re: Check engine light
IAF sensor looks fine. I’ll probably clear it and if it comes back I’ll get a new one. Now about the p0135 code. It seams that I’m seeing it’s not actually a o2 sensor but a A/F sensor. Is it better to buy a oem A/F sensor or just go with a good aftermarket one.
Is the AF sensor located on the top of the exhaust manifold or under the cat?

Re: Check engine light
Alright I think I know what’s wrong. I watched a video and I learned that if you remove the connector from the iaf sensor while the car is running it throws the po113 code(not sure what I was thinking at the time). I cleared the codes and only the po135 code came up. Should I go with the denzo 2349005 air fuel sensor or a oem Honda one. I’m having trouble finding links as I’m in Canada. Should I just get one from the dealer? Cause it seams that these cars are sensitive to aftermarket ones

Re: Check engine light
Edited my post to include a screenshot, didn't show up in the post for some reason. Mine was genuine, just examine it before you install to make sure you didn't get a counterfeit part
Re: Check engine light
that looks like the one I was looking at. I’ll compare the Price with the one from the dealer shop as I’ve heard these ones sometimes won’t work
Re: Check engine light
I'd look into that Denso one on Amazon (#234-9005) if it were my car. The OEM Honda sensor would be around $330 CDN.
The part number for Honda is 36531-PLM-306 I believe for a 2005 LX.

Re: Check engine light
I’m okay with shelling out the money for a oem part. I’m just worried that the denzo one won’t work
