‘01 Civic LX hesitates at 4K rpm’s

‘01 Civic LX hesitates at 4K rpm’s
When I’m in neutral or coasting, it will rev to 6000 fine. Only when I’m in gear will it hesitate around 4-4500 rpm’s. Engine shudders and hesitates... don’t think it’s limp mode. All gears same issue. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

I would guess fuel. Check fuel pressure when driving if possible. Probably needs a new pick up sock in the tank.

I guess. I’m refreshing another D17A1 (not V TEC) to swap out, my current engine has 300,000 miles 😂
might need a tune up
But again, my engine WILL rev to 6,000 rpm’s, but only while in neutral... would that be ECU that’s fried or engine related you think?

Thanks so much! I didn’t think it was fuel related at all but a new pump and filter and I’m sending every gear!!
