Warped block?
Warped block?
So the past couple months ive basically been rebuilding my 02 honda civic ex coupe, i got a new head with a new cam and new valves, cleaned out everything like the egr system and put everything in the top end back together with all new seal, got an aluminum radiator because i kept cracking radiators, replaced a few other things, like alternator, coolant temp senor, clutch, etc, and i got it in time, started doing some heat cycles and coolant flushes, because i had previously put stop leak in an old radiator and wanted all of it out, so then today after this i pulled one of my plugs to check it and i wanted to make sure the gap was correct and it had oil on it so i pulled the other 3 and same thing, all 4 had oil on them, theres no oil on the coil packs so its not getting in that way and i thought maybe piston rings but what are the chances that all 4 sets went bad at the same time, and all the other seals in the valve cover were replaced, so what do you guys think? Is the block warped and caused the headgasket to let loose? Because i did have some pretty major overheating issues which i did my headgasket 3 times which is why i got a new head and why im doing the rebuild. So again what do ya think? Any help would be great

Re: Warped block?
Always best to check the block as well as the head for warpage. Use a precision straight edge, feeler gauges, and test clearances diagonally, front-to-back, and side-to-side acroos the block and each cylinder top surfaces. Did you use a crossing pattern and 3-step torque sequence as listed in the service manual to install the head? Any stripped threads? Using an Honda genuine head gasket?

@HR Puffinblunts thanks for the reply, yea i tried to make sure i did everything right, i looked up the technique for torquing the head, and did it is steps per the instructions, no stripped threads, and i used a felpro headgasket, and once i pull the head back off again ill go about checking the surface of the block
