Oil pan gasket or just hondabond?

I tried to rethread my oil pan and after doing more research now that I finished the job, I see how stupid and terrible the idea was. I ordered a new oil pan and it's coming in thursday with some hondabond. Do I also need a gasket or is the hondabond all I need? I have a honda civic 2005 ex coupe special edition. I'm going to try to bring it to the mechanic shop this weekend.

I’d get the gasket if I were you.

Aluminum oil pan is hondabond, steel pan uses a gasket

This is correct. The D17A2 (ex) is simply an RTV gasket for the oil pan. The D17A1 uses an actual gasket
