engine swap
Re: engine swap
Not a direct swap and not one that gets done (if it even has been done). Will take lots of custom work. Just replace the belt when it needs to be replaced and move on.
Not having a timing belt does not make it better. It's a 90k mile service item that when replaced on time is just as reliable as any chain engine.

Re: engine swap
well, my engine is good but the solenoid is no good, and i found out its the head that is the problem not the ecu or solenoid i changed it 2 times and the ecu 3 times and i still have the light on saying the solenoid is no good,.. so i thought it was best to get the whole engine same year 03, but i hear the 06 is better cause no timing belt,.. thanks
Re: engine swap
Well 3 different mechanics said it's the head... so to rebuild it cost as much as the whole engine.. that's why I said its better to change the engine... also Honda charge too much for telling me what I already

Re: lx to ex engine swap ?
hey guys, i also have the same problem, my ex engine is giving me the P1259 code, i have change the solenoid 3 times, they finally told me its the head,.. i dont care about the Vtech, can i use an lx engine to my Vtech trany or do i have to get the LX trany also, or should i get an LX head with the ecu only to use on my ex block,.. anyone can help me with this???
Re: engine swap
Please don't reply to a 15 year old thread with the same question.
Yes you can use a non-VTEC head but obviously you won't have VTEC. Without the solenoid connected you will likely be in limp mode. You would then have to swap the PCM for a NON-VTEC as well.
