Replaced TDC sensor, still in limp mode

2001 civic, 230k miles

A month ago it overheated, lost power. I didn't realize it was overheating at first because it was night and the dashboard light is very dim. Anyway, I added coolant, it stopped overheating and started running correctly again.

Few days ago, the check engine light started blinking and it went into limp mode. I limped back home ten miles, stopped at a part store where they read these codes:

P1362
P1361
P1298
P0301

So I replaced the TDC sensor, which took me a long time since I'm not good with cars. I also replaced the spark plug on cylinder 1.

But it's still blinking and still in limp mode.

What next?

How can I test the old TDC sensor?

Exactly, go buy an OEM one from the dealer, it will solve your problem

Re: Replaced TDC sensor, still in limp mode

So before I take everything apart for a second time:

* How do I test the old TDC sensor to make sure it really was bad?
* What other possible causes are there for these engine codes?

Check for a breached head gasket - quite common.
