EX alluminum oil pan fit an LX ?

The reason my 05 lx oil pan gasket is giving me too much trouble already and I was considering if the alluminum version from a EX fits the LX, so I can get rid of this rubber gasket and just use liquid rtv.

From Honda’s perspective it’s a lot more expensive, but from a junkyard perspective they are usually same price.

Cheap plastic scrapper to “break” the seal is good plan, that aluminum is soo soft.

Start soaking those two exhaust bolts now on your car since you know your going to have to loosen them soon.

I took mine off a few months ago to change the infamous oil pump O ring. After cleaning the oil pan surface well (that took some time) and using a honda oil pan gasket it wasn't that bad. Sealed well and has not leaked at all. Use a little RTV at the junctions where the pump meets the pan. If you are using the non honda cheap rubbery gaskets, then I suggest you spend the extra $ and get the honda one. It works very well. Don't forget to remove any of those spacers on the studs that may be stuck on there from the old oil pan gasket. follow torque spec and sequence good luck.

Re: EX alluminum oil pan fit an LX ?

Thank you thank you so much. I'm so tired of this thing breaking by pieces, I want things to last.
After I get this done, the CV joint Axle need replacement cause it leaked the grease inside both inner boots and I believe is what is causing vibration when I accelerate. But I bought some random brand name from an autopart which worry me if they will last.
On top of that I am also having headlights flickering or voltage going up and down and no clue yet what is causing this.

My god I have changed so many parts this year and still keeps appearing more. I did the whole chassis an suspension change and timming belt water pump, head gasket Honda brand, spark plugs the original ones, and a lot more new radiator and new fan, new cabin fan too plus other parts.
Now what bother me I didn't change the oil pump gasket and I have no clue if I have to do the whole process of opening everything again. What's next I don't know, this thing keeps breaking apart by little pieces. Isn't there something that last longer than all this junks

since you got the pan off you might as well go change that oil pump O ring while you are there in my opinion. Have you noticed oil leaking around that area? I too have used off brand cv axles from napa and they did not last. Use the warranty! I feel your pain. Good luck.

Thanks a bunch you people.
I didn't change oil pump o rings as You stated and I keep getting oil leaks slightly less this time. You people wouldn't be surprised if I say that the old original oil pan gasket washers rings were still there after all this time. I always thought it was part of the studs. Hopefully this time was installed right but still leaking and this could be the oil pump gasket right? So I might have to start all the process over again and buy all gaskets again. I did change CV axles I hope they last everything feels right until now. The car is 155,000 miles now, I'm not sure what else to worry about breaking next, I plan on traveling far cross states
