P1362, P1361 Help!!!

I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Civic 1.7 which the only thing wrong at the time was overheating due to a bad radiator. I’m a mechanic so it sat at my work until I could replace the radiator, once I did I attempted to drive it home which it drove well and didn’t overheat. The next day I started it up, drove it to work and it was fine then I went to drive to my parents house for a visit and boom both the codes 1632 and 1631 popped up and it went into limp mode, I was at my parents house for about two hours and it started back up and ran fine all the way home. Now fast forward all last week which this problem has gotten progressively worse, I can drive to work in the morning which of course doesn’t take as long since lite traffic but on the way home it hits limp mode with the same codes after 30 minutes and stalls multiple times. I’ve replaced both the TDC sensor and the crankshaft position sensor, I’ve checked voltage on both connectors and have 12V and 5V reference and a good ground (from what I can see), I know of a TSB saying the camshaft might have endplay, but today after replacing the crankshaft sensor it only drove for 10 minutes and it got to the point to where it wouldn’t even start. I’m just baffled as to where to go next, I really don’t want to buy a head and it be an electrical issue but then I also don’t want to replace the ECM or chase my tail on electrical and it be a head, does anyone have any suggestions?

Yes later in the post I switched numbers around by accident, my bad it’s been a long day, the numbers in the title are correct and those are the codes I’m looking at.

Re: P1362, P1361 Help!!!

If you did not use OEM or Denso brabded sensors then that may be the issue; many aftermarkets are known to cause issues on this generation.

Also because of the overheating issue, perhaps check for a headgasket leak in cylinder 1.

If no leak and OEM sensors, then I'd test the wires for continuity from sensor to ecu, and all related fuses and relays.

Re: P1362, P1361 Help!!!

Typically replacing with an OEM Honda Cam Sensor solves the issue. But since you have a 2001, then the TSB for excessive camshaft endplay may apply. Check your VIN range on the TSB.
