am i screwed?

2002 honda civic lx manual tranny 1.7 engine 252k miles on it

so over the last month or so i've noticed my car acting weird

i was driving down the hwy doing about 70. next thing you know, the car just slows down and will not accelerate when i step on the gas. i put it in neutral and the battery and oil lights come on. i pull it aside and turn it off. wait a few minutes and it drives off again with no problems

it happened again 6 days later, same exact situation. and then again 4 days after that. took it to a shop and they replaced the timing belt and water pump as well as the seals

today i pulled out of the driveway and was shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and then into 3rd. the car jumps and slows down, and oil light and battery light comes on. i downshift and it jumps again. i pull over and turn it off, wait 4 minutes and then crank it up. it doesn't crank up at all. it turns but doesn't completely start the car. i can hear the starter trying to fire up

after waiting 10 more minutes i crank it up and drove to work 35 minutes with no problems. when i got home i replaced all the spark plugs just in case to rule out any problems. plugs i put in are ngk platinum g power

anybody know what could be happening?

Got oil?
Got alternator bolts checked to make sure someone didn't forget to tighten them after the timing belt job?
Got codes?

Gonna be hard to tell you anything exact, you need to figure out what goes missing when it dies...Fuel? Spark?

didn't realize alternator would have been loosened in order to do timin belt

haven't read codes, will get that done tomorrow

Yes, it is removed during the timing belt job. Forgetting to tighten all the alternator mounting bolts is the #1 cause of PCM failure.

So simple, so easy to forget, and so expensive to figure out and fix after it's caused damage.

Yeah it sucks when this happens!!

It could be your camshaft position sensor. After I did my timing belt I was getting the same thing to happen when getting up to higher RPMs. Realized my alternator wasn't tight and ended up blowing the PCM.

But when the CPS would go out the car would slow to a crawl and I could turn it off and turn it back on and it would fix the problem. Wasn't getting the battery light though if I remember right but not sure.
