Question 2 types of PCV valve? see pic!!

hey peeps

please take a look at the diagram. i know most civics have the metal screw in type (#4) of pcv valve but mine has the push-in type (#3) with a grommet. my question is this.....by looking at the diagram, both types of PCV valve should fit into the breather chamber??

i was trying to remove the valve and it broke in two at the center and its toast now. i bought a new valve but the only one i could find is the screw in type.

thanks in advance.

Someone posted about something very similar the other day....
You may have a D17A engine instead of D17A1 or A2?

I'm in the USA, the push-in valve in the pic is not available here.

Take your old valve in to a real parts store and see if they can match up something that will work?

If you search parts catalogs back to about 1984 Civic or 1988 Accord you may find a similar looking straight stem PCV valve. IDK if it would actually be the same size though.

Or you could swap your breather chamber over to the threaded style, but you'd have to score one off another engine.
