Hesitant Acceleration 04' Si

I've experienced some hesitation under hard acceleration in my si. It's especially noticeable in the 2000-4000rpm range in 2nd and 3rd gears. Is it just that I need to shift from a higher rpm in the previous gear? I only have 10000 miles, drive it rather lightly, and have performed proper maintenance. It's bone stock, could the exhaust be too small? Thanks for any help you might have.

Try different gas, maybe a fuel system cleaner.

I have also found that if you always drive honda motors lightly, they tend to form a lot of valve deposits. A good long freeway run at higher RPM on a regular basis keeps the motor clean.

Even though everyone denies it, try some high octane. My own civic DOES run better on it, I don't care what everyone says. I have tried and tried this again and again.
I am very attuned to my cars. It's NOT imagination. The car runs smoother and has a bit more pep. It's not dramatic, but it IS noticable in everyday driving.

If all else fails, check the plugs, and make sure the air filter is clean. Having honda maintain the car does not mean they actually DID anything.

where you from? Just trying to figure out what Si you're talkin about.

Si (US) or Si (Canada).

I'm going with it being a US Si, based on the fact that he computes his distances in miles.

Thank you for your help, I appreciate it. I'll try a higher octane gas and go from there. What is the signifigance of the civic being canadian?
