2005 Honda Civic EX Coupe Wiring Harness
Hey everyone so i have a question. I have the D17A (same as A2 with more ponies) and i bought a parts car that had the A1 in it for the trans. Im wondering if its a simple plug and play if i use the auto dash harness (i have the info to make it work) with the manual DX ECU and manual engine harness. And will i hurt my engine by not allowing VTEC to work? I have a push button start so i have no need to reflash or anything btw

the term is programming the key, not reflash
D17 engine VTEC shifts 3 valve in lower RPM to 4 valve in higher RPM, so will not have as much power as a D17A1 in higher RPM, much less than an D17A2.
Literally will not breathe as it should in higher RPM (should have gotten a D17A1 instead...). Will not damage engine, just less than both engines
since this is a question and not an DIY article, moved out of the DIY articles section.
