Issue with fog lights
Issue with fog lights
So, I’m having an issue with my fog lights. I changed out my turn signal relay since I have led turn signals, and then my fog lights stopped working. I changed back the relay and still nothing changed. I’m getting power to the in-line fog light relay because I can hear it click, the in-line fuse is also not blown. I’ve thought maybe it could be the bulbs themselves, but figured it was unlikely for both of them to stop working at the same time. Any one have any ideas to what it could be?
Re: Issue with fog lights
Do you have a meter to test with? And do you know how to use it?
Remove the relay, key on, fog light switch on, start measuring. Usually two of the pins are smaller, these are the coil side. One of them will have battery voltage while the other should have continuity to ground. Of the two remaining pins one should have battery voltage while the other has ground through the bulbs (should read something like 2 ohms). See what's missing.
PS. Do not check continuity to ground on the pins with battery voltage or you will destroy your meter.
