Fog Lights

Hi,
I bought a set of fug lights for my Civic Sedan 2009 4DR (not genuine)
I want wire them directly to the small parking lights!
But each one is 55 watts and I am afraid there will be extra pressure on fuse or other parts!
I need them to be turned on with small parking lights and don't need a separate switch!
Please advise

Re: Fog Lights

You need to wire the parking lights to a relay and run your fog lights off of the relay.

Re: Fog Lights

So use the relay, but where to get the power from? Directly from battery?

Re: Fog Lights

Correct. Battery positive to pin 30. Fog light positive to pin 87. Parking light positive to pin 85 and ground to 86.

Re: Fog Lights

What if I directly connect the fog lights to the parking lights and increase the parking lights fuse from 7.5A to 15A for example? This way any problem happens?

Re: Fog Lights

No, that would not be a good idea. It's best to use relays to reduce current draw because in addition to reducing current draw they also isolate things from each other. You could end up frying something in the ECU or multiplex unit.
