Fog light install issue
Fog light install issue
I realized i posted on the wrong section. So here we go:
I bought one fog light kits off amazon for my 2005 honda civic ex. I followed the instructions posted on this DIY . The brown plug you put into the fuse box would not turn the fog lights on.
I snipped the wire and added a fuse tap. This worked however i blew 3 fuses and it would constantly stay on with the car off. So I decided to remove the power wire from the battery and tap into the red wire for my parking lights. This way the fog lights should only turn on with the parking/headlights on.
However it did not work, I even tried rewiring it to the original brown plug for the fuse box and still nothing. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Fog light install issue
I deleted your other thread.
If they are staying on constantly then there are tied to voltage all the time so they are not going through a relay. Or it is going through a relay but it is triggered all the time.
Are you using a relay? Should be wired like this:

Re: Fog light install issue
Thank you for deleting that thread.
However the harness it came with did not have a ground for the lamps. Thats how i had it set up at first and it would not turn on. It does go through the relay.
