Sound coming from the dash?
Sound coming from the dash?
I am a new member to this forum. Just bought a 2004 civic sedan LX for my daughter. Last night we removed the oem radio and installed a new one. Now when we turn key to accessorie , after a few seconds we hear a strange random sound coming from the the dash. Nothing seems to change it. Sorta sound like vibrating cell phone. Radio works fine, as do all the lights. It is not the fresh air flap, as we have tested it and it works fine.
Any ideas?

Re: Sound coming from the dash?
relays are known to buzz when there is a grounding issue(bad ground, ground loop, etc). i would try to locate the sound. check(feel or listen around) relays.
last time i had a relay buzz under the dash of a honda it was because i forgot to reconnect a ground wire to the back of the engine, only mentioning it in case you touched something under the hood

Re: Sound coming from the dash?
Thanks so much for the help. I did not connect the illumination wire, I cut it and capped it and heat shrunk a sleeve onto it. Is there relay switches near the climate controls or radio? I probably need to pull it all out again and check for the sound, although yesterday the sound stopped after I turned all the climate control ***** back n forth. As for under the hood, I didnt do anything except disconnect the battery.
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

You get to discover all the problems it has.
A flaky HVAC servo might be one of them.
