Civic rear stock speakers (issue)
Civic rear stock speakers (issue)
Howdy!
I am by far the noobiest Civic owner on this forum. My problem seems simple but I don't possess the knowledge or know-how at this point to resolve it. I scanned through the forums for a while and couldn't find anything, so here it is.
SIMPLE:
My rear speakers are not working.
I'm going to avoid saying anything stupid, so I'll just state the current state of the speaker/sound system.
Front panel speakers work fine, the head unit is relatively new as far as I can tell. I bought the vehicle used 5 months ago and haven't bothered fixing the rear speakers.
It's a 2003 Honda Civic DX Coupe, 1.4L and needing some improvement.
Any links or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and Gigem!

I stripped the trunk and looked at all the wires and didn't dismantle any of the actual wiring. They are on the same connection as the brakelights, taillights, blinkers, etc.
NO wires appeared to be cut or disconnected

Re: Civic rear stock speakers (issue)
If you had a voltmeter you could probably see if the speakers are getting power. You can get them pretty cheap or just go to O'Reilly's or Autozone and they'll check for free.

Punch buttons on the radio until you figure where to adjust the FADER front/rear.
Adjust more to the rear!
If it's that easy I'm gonna chuckle a lot.
Or....You could pull the unit out of the dash and check wire continuity from the deck to the speakers, and make sure none measure shorted to ground.
Re: Civic rear stock speakers (issue)
Hahaha no. I made sure of that way back before I was even sure something was wrong with them. I'm going to try to take the box out and check the wiring to see if something's wrong there. That seems to be the most likely scenario.
Voltemeter will be brought early manana. Thanks fellas

US car should have a 1.7L
EDIT: Got a "known good" speaker you can test with? Hook it up back there

OK I'll do it:
Punch buttons on the radio until you figure where to adjust the FADER front/rear.
Adjust more to the rear!
