Question about dealer recommendations

I'm new here so this is my first post and hoping to get some advice.

I bought a certified pre-owned 2018 Civic EX from the local Honda dealer almost 2 years ago and just had the dealer do the second oil change at 40k miles. They came back with these recommendations:

- Air Filter ($67)
- Brake Flush ($139.95)
- Cabin Air Filter ($90)
- Coolant Flush ($139.95)
- Emissions Cleaning Service ($189.95)
- Four-Wheel alignment ($149.95)

I had them do the first two items in bold and I already changed the cabin air filter this afternoon. Their parts manager told me he would wait until I have about 50k miles on it before I do the emissions cleaning. The car has zero issues driving straight and there is no wear on the tires and the didn't even rotate the tires because it wasn't needed so I'm not sure I need an alignment.

The biggest question though is about the coolant flush. How important is the flush vs a drain and fill? Could I drain/fill now then in a week do another drain/fill to hold me few a few years?

Thanks in advance for any help here.

Re: Question about dealer recommendations

? what is refurbish?
Never done coolant/brake flush since 2008
alignment is recommended once a year, but if you are able to tell when it is getting bad, you save in tire life. (it is based on the fact the average driver does not understand alignment, if you are good on this, only when it starts showing bad signs - means checking periodically the tires too, when toe went off, tires did not last a month)

Do the engine filter yourself next time. You could do a drain and fill on the coolant yourself easily, just buy the right coolant. Get them to explain that emission thing better. Sounds like nonsense just from reading the title, never heard of something like that

IIRC, they said it was something about cleaning carbon deposits off the pistons or something like that.

Re: Question about dealer recommendations

Is the engine direct injection? Those engines need the carbon cleaned off the back of the intake valves

Re: Question about dealer recommendations

If it's the 1.5T, direct injection. I believe the NA 2.0L is port injection though.
