Slight "whining" noise while driving and AC is on.

Hi everyone. So I bought a 2017 Civic EX 6 speed Mt new, and notice that the AC makes a slight whining noise while driving. It works perfectly, I just wanted to see if anyone else notices this while their AC is on and if I should take it to the dealer or not. Thanks everyone!

It's under warranty so bring it to dealer.

My thoughts exactly. I just hate how long dealerships take. I didn't want to go in sounding like a crazy person, that's why I figured I'd ask here first haha.

It's a machine, it allowed to make noises.

Go compare the sounds to any identical car before you complain about yours.

If it' s a rather quiet noise and not obtrusive, that's probably OK. I can usually hear when the compressors run and cycle, but I'm kinda tuned in to it.

If it's real loud that's not normal.

I'm not really complaining. If it's normal, it's normal. I just never heard an AC make this particular noise before (I know you can hear the compressor kick on and cycle and all that). I'll probably mention it when I bring it in for an oil change.

16 and 17 now use a single large radiator fan......If you're sitting still, you can almost always hear the radiator fan turn on (loud whir noise as the fan comes up to full speed) when the compressor kicks on too. You can open the hood and watch it cycle with the compressor.

I've had this same issue on my 2017 civic touring. I would call it a buzzing/whizzing noise and I hear it more prominently at higher speeds.

I have a 2017 2.0 LX and really don't notice any noise from the A/C.

It's so quiet at freeway speed too I need to be careful of speeding! I use cruise control to mitigate that problem.

Go straight to your dealership, don't pass go or collect $200.000....there is an issue with the civic 2017 ac units...Honda knows about it but yet to figure out how to fix it and just keeps telling customers that the parts are on back order....so get this on their books asap so you don't end up paying for it post warranty.
