Grinding/Vibration only with AC on
I've been chasing this issue for months, I can't track it down.
It ONLY happens with the AC is on, or has been on. It is not the compressor, because the car makes the noise after the car is turned off! I'm sure its not any rotating parts since the car will be turned off for about 30 seconds to 1 min and the noise will start. It also does it while driving.
Its a grinding/vibration type of noise. You can feel it through the car, it almost feels like the abs system when you slam on the brakes, but there is zero change in brake feel. It feels to be coming from the driver side, front of the car somewhere. The entire car vibrates and it sounds like a nasty grinding noise.
It does it pretty randomly, but I notice its more frequent when on the freeway. It does it for a few seconds, then stops. Sometimes it does it for about 30 seconds, then goes away, or it will do it a couple seconds every 10 mins. Sometimes it never does it at all. I can never try to pinpoint it because its so random I'm never ready under the hood when it happens lol.
No noise when the ac isn't on, or hasn't been turned on. Ac blows nice and cold and car drives great other than that.
Any ideas?
